  • A list of tasks someone performed to get an Ubuntu machine ready for use as their work PC. I still want to swtich, but it’ll take me a day or so to get setup, and another week or so to get back up to fully productive speed, and I don’t have the time righ

  • An animated map showing reilgous expansion over the last 5000 years. Puts the rise of Christianity into stark perspective as an upstart newcomer, and makes it slightly easier to understand why Islam might be a bit militant, these days.
  • I don’t do CSS much - I know enough to do the work, but not how to do it *well*. This look like a really good set of tips for someone like me - an expert revealing the tricks of the trade that are the difference between “able to do it” and “really good”.

  • An art/science project - couples have donated samples (via wisdom teeth extraction), which will be used to grow bone rings from a combination of their samples, to make jewelry (with some normal metal as a setting for strength.) I’d love to take part.

  • Random slogans are paired with random images from Flickr. Eithe this exposes the power of advertising to create meaning for nothing, or it yet another example of it’s utter fucking worthlessness. Would you like to guess which I think it is?
  • At risk of mockery by those not playing, a reference for a few handy Warcraft Guides, since I’m getting back into playing it, despite not having yet bought the new expansion.

  • I know very little Classical music that I could put a name to, and would like to correct that, so this is my first step - a general best of, to see what I like. I’m marking it, because this has a better tracklisting than is offered on Emusic.
